Government Polytechnic College Bathinda was established in the year 1985 to impart quality education in the field of Engineering and Technology,with an aim to cater to the students of the southern Punjab. Located on Bibiwala road,GPC Bathinda has been established on a lush green campus of 22 acres.It has meticulous planned buildings and well landscaped grounds. The focus of the college in addition to imparting technical education to students in their various trade is the following:- To make available technical man power to the industry as per their requirements. To train students for self employment & entrepreneurship. To lay special emphasis on overall personality development of the students by encouraging them to participate in extra curricular activities & other competitions.

Best Polytechnic Award
Presented by NITTTR(National Institute of Technical Teachers Training And Research) Chandigarh on the occasion of Annual Day Celebrations of the Institute November 18,2009 to Govt Polytechnic College, Bathinda(Punjab) for having been adjudged as one of the outstanding polytechnics in the Northern Region for the Year 2008-2009.
Vision and Values
The main objective of the college is to provide Technical Education at Diploma level,thus preparing technicians of a level comparable to the best in the country keeping in view the need of the industry. Students apart from being prepared for industrial jobs are also trained for self-employment. They are made self sufficient and enterprising so as to be able to understand profitable ventures. Above all a sense of discipline is inculcated in the students making them useful & responsible citizens. Extra curricular activities are given a special emphasis in the institution for an all round development of the students. The students are encouraged to participate in sports and other competitions. The institution has established an Industry Institute Interaction Cell under the World Bank assisted projects to facilitate interaction and co-ordination with industries so as to make technical education relevant to current needs.
